I have been thinking, for a long time, to create lists with the top ten players of the decades prior to the 90s but starting a new blog about it would require a lot of time that I currently do not have. Thus, I decided that I could add a page within the existing nbaat90s blog, dedicated to the decades before the 90s. This page will contain eventually four sub-pages, one for each of the preceding decades; the 80s, the 70s, the 60s and the 50s were all started. Each of the sub-pages will contain a list with the top-ten players and five more lists with the top-ten players for each position (much like what I have been doing in this blog for the 90s). However, as the players of the decades prior to the 90s were not my contemporaries and I have not seen play live I will not write any articles on them; my opinion and the lists will be the result of research and statistics. I hope that my lists will be able to do justice to the players of the past decades and of course the blog is always open to suggestions, especially by those that have watched the players live. Finally, with this page I will try to pay tribute to the best players of the past decades that paved the road for the golden decade of the 90s, as well as to show the continuity of the NBA and make comparisons between decades, because such a thing is unavoidable, much easier.
